Matrix Biolage Ultra HydraSource Hydrating Shampoo: Review

Trying yet another shampoo in my pursuit of perfect hair care, today I am going to review Matrix Biolage Ultra HydraSource Hydrating shampoo. Prior to this I was using Matrix Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong Shampoo with bamboo extract and ceramide. I have heard a lot about Matrix hair care range and Matrix Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong shampoo was exactly as the brand promised.

Since it is summer time, My hair tend to become a little dry and frizzy. If I apply too much conditioner, they will become oily the next day of washing. If I use prescribed quantity, they are dry and full of static!

So, I want something which can not only make my hair manageable but also condition them with necessary moisture.

Let's see if Matrix Biolage Ultra HydraSource Hydrating Shampoo is what the brand says.

My Take

I have been using Matrix Biolage Ultra HydraSource Hydrating Shampoo for about 2 weeks now. I washed my hair without any conditioner for about a week and later followed it with very small quantity of conditioner. The shampoo does adds volume to it, however, it could not do much about the static problem which seem to creep up second day after washing. Hair stays fresh and clean for about 2-3 days, but since it is summer time, and I sweat a lot being an outdoorsy girl, I have to wash my hair at least 3 times in a week.

Smells great, did add moisture to my hair leaving them feeling soft and manageable. There is a noticeable shine to them which I love a lot. You will not need conditioner much but if you have severely dry hair, I will advise you to use it as needed. Girls with oily hair can skip conditioner. Consistency is a bit runny but lathers well in small quantity which is a thumbs up for me.

Pros
  • Adds Volume
  • Great Smell. Sort of like baby soap with fresh fragrance.
  • Improves Hair Health adding a healthy shine to them.
  • Lathers Well with small quantity
  • Adds moisture to hair making them manageable.
  • It is Paraben Free
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Travel friendly

Cons

  • A bit runny
  • Cost might be a problem for some
  • Will need conditioner for dry hair
  • Does not do much about static
